March 27 #howtobehappy2015 Which is worse, failing or never trying?

Right of the top of my brain I would say: FAILING. I had/have (still) such bad stage fight. Like literally being in front of a group of people: telling them something, or singing, or having to make certain standards, it scares the heck out of me.

But than again.. I also had soo much experience where I didn't do something because I was so scared.. and it turned out to be such a stupid decision..

I think my answer is going to be that never trying is worse, and that's what people say, don't they? You fail anyway if you never try..

Here are some quotes to prove that a lot of people feel very strongly about this:

"You never fail, until you stop trying." - Albert Einstein

"By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." - Benjamin Franklin

"Those who dare to fail miserably can achieve greatly." - John F. Kennedy

"It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed." - Theodore Roosevelt

"Our greatest glory is not in never failing, it is in rising up every time we fail." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"It is better to fail in originality, than to succeed in imitation." - Herman Melville

This is a good one:

"What great thing would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?" - Robert H. Schuller

And I'm going to end with my favorite quote.. I don't know why this is my favorite.. it just has a nice feel to it. And it sounds really true.

"Ever tried? Ever fail? Try again. Fail again. Fail better." - Samuel Beckett
(Isn't that an amazing quote?!)

That is a good question though, isn't it? "What great thing would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?" Because what would you do, if you were guaranteed not to fail. I already know somethings that I would have done earlier, if I had that guarantee.
